Art Win in Poland

September, 2024 - Warsaw, Poland

Nicolle Cure has secured 2nd place in the 'Sound Off' 2024 Art Competition from among hundreds of submissions. This global event, organized by the Hashir International Institute in collaboration with the World Hearing Center, the Institute of Physiology and Pathology of Hearing, and the Institute of Sensory Organs, and sponsored by MED-EL, focuses on raising awareness about misophonia, tinnitus, and hyperacusis—more about Nicolle’s health journey on her blog.

Cure’s artwork has won numerous awards over the years and continues to be recognized for its compelling representation of the experiences associated with these conditions. Her piece, Pastel Indigo, was selected by a panel of art critics and scientists as one of the top three winning entries and will be featured at the 7th International Conference on Hyperacusis and Misophonia in Warsaw, Poland, this September.

LatinX Women Artist Feature

Beautiful Shifts Podcast Interview

“Nicolle shares the struggles of living with an invisible disorder and how she was inspired to use her art and voice to spread awareness about hearing loss and vestibular health conditions. She also shares about her move to Miami from Barranquilla, Colombia, with her family when she was 17 years old. Later she graduated from the University of Florida in Advertising, her full-time profession while also pursuing her career and passion painting. 

Nicolle's artworks explore the relationship between sound and life. She shares how her partner, a musician and music producer, has been an incredible support and helped inspire her to illustrate and 'capture' sound visually with her art. Her delicate yet energetic pieces irradiate serenity and joy, bringing a sense of calm to the viewer.
